Wugang to build Liberian steelworks
China’s Wuhan Iron and Steel (Wugang) and Tidfore Heavy Equipment Group have agreed to build a 500,000 tonnes/year steelworks in Liberia, the engineering and shipping firm says. The announcement follows a visit by Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi during which he suggested an investment would be forthcoming, Kallanish notes.
