Wider spreads, increased shipments boost Cognor's first-quarter performance
Widening spreads thanks to faster steel price growth over raw materials, as well as increased shipments saw Cognor report higher revenue and Ebitda in the first quarter. This occurred despite further disparity between electric arc furnace and blast furnace steelmaking feedstock costs that gave EAF mills a less favourable cost position, according to the Polish steelmaker.
