WEF recognises Emirates Steel's decarbonisation progress
Emirates Steel (ESI) has been recognised by the World Economic Forum (WEF) among five leading steelmakers – the sole representative from the Middle East and North Africa – for their decarbonisation accomplishments and objectives, Kallanish notes.
The Abu Dhabi-based steelmaker's initiative dates back to 2016, when it first partnered with Alreyadah and the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) to capture CO2, WEF says.
