Weekly US production rises, still down on-year
Raw steel production in the US picked up during the week ended 9 April on higher production in the Midwest and Southern regions, Kallanish learns from the latest American Iron and Steel Institute report.
US mills, operating at 79.7% of capabilities, produced an estimated 1.739 million short tons of raw steel products last week. While output was up 0.9% from the week prior, it was down 2.7% on-year.
