Weekly raw steel output dips in US

The latest report from the American Iron and Steel Institute shows raw steel production in the US dipping during the week ended 22 January, with the Southern region showing the largest drop in output. US steel mills operated at 81.9% of capabilities last week, producing an estimated 1.803 million short tons of raw steel. This was a 1.6% drop from the week before when mills were operating at 83.2%.
