Vitkovice Steel shuts down meltshop
Czech heavy plate producer Vitkovice Steel permanently closed its meltshop on 30 September and will source its slab requirement from EU and Russian steelmakers, Kallanish learns from the company.
“The reason for this action was inadequate setting of the operating conditions for the steelworks, which does not allow for maintaining long-term production of the company in the future,” the firm says in a statement.
