Vietnamese mills order domestic scrap, shun Japanese supply

The Japanese scrap market was quiet last week, Kallanish notes, as Japanese supply in the region was replaced with material from other origins. Hong Kong-origin HMS 1&2 50:50 scrap was booked at $470/tonne cfr and $473/t cfr Phu My on 3 June. Two Vietnamese mills secured 3,000 tonnes each, for shipment by end-July.
