Vietnamese steelmakers see first-quarter output reduction
The member companies of the Vietnam Steel Association (VSA) experienced a significant decline in both output and business in the first quarter of this year, due to the wide spread of Covid-19, Kallanish notes.
Official data shows that steel production by VSA member companies fell by -15% year-on-year in Q1 to 5.4 million tonnes. At the same time, steel consumption fell by -20% to 4.4 million tonnes.
