Vedanta sees fall in steel, iron ore output
Vedanta group-owned ESL Steel’s saleable finished steel output dropped 7% on-year to 269,000 tonnes in the first quarter of the fiscal year ending 31 March 2023 (FQ1). This also plummeted 18% on-quarter against 328,000t produced in the last fiscal quarter ended 31 March 2022, Kallanish notes.
ESL produced 196,000t of billet, 106,000t TMT bar, 84,000t of wire rod, 33,000t of pig iron, and 44,000t of ductile iron pipe in FQ1.
