USW applauds repeal of anti-labour legislation
The United Steelworkers union is celebrating the “right-to-work” repeal by Michigan legislators. The laws were enacted in 2012, and their adoption limited the rights of unions to bargain for contracts, working conditions, or safety.
“We refused to be cheated out of our hard-won labour rights. We fought back, and like union members always do, we got the job done,” said Donnie Blatt, the USW District 1 director.
