US Transportation Department waives Buy America requirements
The US Department of Transportation (DOT) has issued a temporary waiver on President Joe Biden's Buy America requirement for federally funded infrastructure projects, Kallanish understands.
According to a recent notice, the department issued a 180-day waiver on Buy America requirements, expiring in November. This waiver is due, in part, to the DOT wanting to allow for a “transition period” for state and local DOTs.
