US steel imports see growth in 2022
Steel imports in the US increased from February to March and over the last 12 months, according to the preliminary Census Bureau data from the American Iron and Steel Institute as monitored by Kallanish.
In March 2022 the US imported a total of 3.09 million short tons of steel. Of the total amount, finished steel comprises 2.49m st. From February, this marks an increase of roughly 31.6% and 35.8%.
