US rigs rise by 8, Canada down 3
The US rig count ticked up in the week ended 5 February, while the Canadian rig count trended down, Kallanish learns from energy services company Baker Hughes.
The US rig count increased by eight net rigs to 392 - still down 398 from its year-ago level.
The US gained four rigs geared for oil production and four rigs geared for natural gas production.
Texas led the net gains by state with seven, while New Mexico posted the lone net loss of one.
