US rigs rise by 6, Canada down 2
Both the US and Canadian rig counts increased in the week ended 29 January, Kallanish learns from energy services company Baker Hughes.
The US rig count increased by six net rigs to 384, down 406 from the equivalent week last year.
All new rigs gained were geared for oil production.
Texas led the notable net gains by state with seven, while New Mexico led the losses by state with three.
The Canadian count, meanwhile, rose by two net rigs…
