US rigs rise by 5, Canada up 3
Both the US and Canadian rig counts ticked up in the week ended 23 October, Kallanish learns from energy services company Baker Hughes.
The US rig count increased by five net rigs to 287, still down 564 from the equivalent week last year.
Rigs geared for oil production increased by six, while rigs geared for natural gas production fell by one.
Texas led the notable net increases by state with two, while Louisiana led the losses with one.
