US rigs rise by 5, Canada down 9
The US rig count advanced in the week ended 27 August, while the Canadian count retreated, Kallanish learns from energy services firm Baker Hughes.
The US rig count increased by five net rigs to 508, 254 above last year’s equivalent weekly count.
All new US rigs gained were geared for oil production.
