US rigs rise by 2, Canada loses 1
The US rig count posted a minor increase in the week ended 21 May, while the Canadian count slipped slightly, Kallanish learns from energy services firm Baker Hughes.
The US rig count increased by two net rigs to 455, up 137 from last year’s equivalent weekly count.
Rigs geared for oil production rose by four, but that was partially offset by a loss of one rig apiece geared for natural gas and classified as miscellaneous.
