US rigs rise by 1, Canada up 2
Both the US and Canadian rig counts posted minor gains in the week ended 11 October, Kallanish learns from energy services company Baker Hughes.
The US rig count increased by one net rig to 856, down 207 from the equivalent week last year.
Rigs geared for oil production increased by two, while rigs geared for natural gas production fell by one.
Texas led the notable net gains by state with six, while Pennsylvania led the losses with four.
