US rigs increase by 7, Canada down 2
The US rig count increased in the week ended 23 July, while the Canadian rig count posted a slight decrease, Kallanish learns from energy services firm Baker Hughes.
The US rig count increased by seven net rigs to 491, up 240 from last year’s equivalent weekly count.
All new rigs gained were geared for oil production.
Texas led the notable net gains by state with six, while Louisiana posted the only net loss during the week with two. …
