US rigs fall by 57, Canada gains 1
The US rig count continued its downward spiral in the week ended 1 May, while the Canadian rig count registered a slight gain, Kallanish learns from energy services company Baker Hughes.
The US rig count fell by 57 net rigs to 408, down 582 from last year’s equivalent weekly count.
Rigs geared for oil production fell by 53, while rigs geared for natural gas production fell by four.
