US rigs fall by 4, Canada up 2
The US rig count continued its decline in the week ended 7 August, while the Canadian count posted a minor gain, Kallanish learns from energy services company Baker Hughes.
The US rig count fell by four net rigs to 247, down 687 from the equivalent week last year.
All lost rigs were geared for oil production. There was no change in the number of rigs geared for natural gas production.
