US rigs fall by 20, Canada down 77
Both the US and Canadian rig counts posted drastic, double-digit decreases in the week ended 20 March, Kallanish reports.
The US rig count fell by 20 net rigs to 722, down 244 from last year’s equivalent weekly count.
Rigs geared for oil production fell by 19, while rigs geared for natural gas production fell by one.
No state posted a net gain. Texas led the net losses with 11, followed by New Mexico with five.
