US rigs fall by 5, Canada down 3
Both the US and Canadian rig counts dipped in the week ended 18 October, Kallanish learns from energy services company Baker Hughes.
The US lost five net rigs for a total of 851, down 216 from the equivalent week last year.
Rigs geared for oil production increased by one, while rigs geared for natural gas production fell by six.
Pennsylvania led the notable net losses by state with four, while Texas led the notable gains with three.
