US raw weekly production ticks up on-week
Weekly raw steel production in the US for the week ended 6 April was 1.745 million short tons (1.583m tonnes), with a capacity utilisation rate of 78.6%, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute. Raw steel production increased 1.3% week-on-week. In the week ended 30 March, raw production was 1.722m st and utilisation was 77.5%.
