US plate prices drop, Nucor issues adjustment
Nucor sent its customers a price adjustment notification on 29 November for orders of as-rolled discrete plate, normalised plate, and quench and tempered plates, effective for new orders, Kallanish learns.
The company is reducing prices by $140/short ton.
“My guess is that Nucor is trying to regain market share they’ve recently lost,” a plate distributor says.
