Mills maintain raw steel output in US
US mill output and capability utilisation were basically flat during the week ended 2 April, 2022, according to the latest American Iron and Steel Institute data reviewed by Kallanish.
US mills produced an estimated 1.724 million short tons of raw steel products during the week, down by just 2,000 st from the week prior. The overall mill capability utilisation rate was 79.3%. This compares to the same week of 2021 when mills operated at 78.8% of capabilities, prod…
