US loses 4 rigs, Canada gains 17
The number of active oil and gas rigs in the US is lower by four week-on-week, whilst Canada added 17, Kallanish learns from oil services company Baker Hughes.
The US rig count is now down to 590 for the week ended 14 June, 97 fewer units than in the equivalent week of 2023. The new total is the lowest since January 2022. Within the current US tally, 488 are oil rigs and 98 are for gas, with four categorised as miscellaneous.
