US EPA recommends new steel production standards
The US Environmental Protection Agency has recommended new and revised performance standards for electric arc furnace facilities and argon-oxygen decarburization (AOD) vessels, reports Kallanish.
The agency recommends new construction EAF facilities, and any EAF facilities reconstructed or modified after 16 May, 2022, comply with a particulate matter standard. The particulate matter standard is also recommended for AOD facilities.
