US drops 9 rigs, Canada adds 2
The US rig count for the week ended 26 May decreased by nine on-week, bringing the weekly total count to 711. Canada added two operational rigs to bring the total to 87, Kallanish learns from energy services company Baker Hughes.
Of the US total rigs, 570 are for oil and 137 are for gas. The remaining rigs were classified as miscellaneous. This is a decrease of 16 from the equivalent week last year.
