US drops 8 rigs, Canada adds 2
The number of active oil and gas rigs in the US decreased by eight for the week ended 3 May whilst Canada added two rigs, Kallanish learns from oil services company Baker Hughes.
The US rig count totals 605, a decrease of 143 from the equivalent week in 2023. Of the total, 499 are oil rigs, 102 are gas rigs, and four are categorised as miscellaneous.
