US HRC prices seen ‘freefalling’
Prices of US hot rolled coil are coming off this week, with one well-placed mid-western distribution source saying they are in “freefall”.
“Lead times are 5-6 weeks; there are not enough buyers purchasing inventory, and those buying only get what they need to fill orders. Demand has to pick up substantially before buyers loosen their inventory dollars,” the source tells Kallanish.
