US decreases rigs by 4, Canada gains 6
The number of active oil and gas rigs in the US decreased by four for the week ended 24 May, whilst Canada added six rigs, Kallanish learns from oil services company Baker Hughes.
The US rig count totals 600, a decrease of 111 from the equivalent week in 2023. Of the total, 497 are oil rigs, 99 are gas rigs, and four are categorised as miscellaneous.
Texas decreased its rigs by three last week, West Virginia by two, and Oklahoma and Ohio lost one rig each. …
