US certifies Posco's biomass-coated steel
South Korean steel producer Posco has developed a biomass-based colour-coated steel sheet, which has been certified as an environmentally friendly product by Underwriters Laboratories Inc of the United States.
The coating paint of this steel product is made of corncobs, while traditional colour steel plate uses coatings containing petroleum-based raw materials, Kallanish notes. This product is developed and produced at the Posco Steeleon plant.
