US, Canadian rigs rise by 3
Both the US and Canadian rig counts posted small but identical gains in the week ended 6 August, Kallanish learns from energy services company Baker Hughes.
The US rig count increased by three net rigs to 491, up 244 over last year’s equivalent weekly count.
Rigs geared for oil production increased by two. The US also gained one rig classified as miscellaneous.
