Ural Steel decommissions BF, maintains pig iron output
Russia’s Ural Steel plant, part of Zagorsk Pipe Works (ZTZ), is decommissioning blast furnace No.1, which was launched in 1955.
The firm currently operates modernised BFs No.2 and No.3, as well as a capitally repaired BF No.4. They allow Ural Steel to produce more than 2.5 million tonne/year of high-quality pig iron, Kallanish notes.
