UK construction activity goes from bad to worse

The UK construction sector continued to underperform significantly in September according to the latest IHS Markit/Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) survey monitored by Kallanish. Steel-intensive commercial activity remained the weakest-performing category, the survey reveals, while the total sector saw the second-quickest fall in new orders for over a decade.
