UK construction sector falls and falls again
The bastion of steel use in the UK, construction sector activity, continues to plummet as 2019 begins according to the latest survey by IHS Markit/CIPS monitored by Kallanish. The sharpest fall in civil engineering activity since March 2009 is evident, new business has decreased for the ninth month in a row and input cost inflation eased to its lowest since February 2010.
