Turkish scrap market slows following flurry of activity
Activity in Turkey’s scrap market slowed on Friday, following numerous deals throughout the week and previous week.
Only one US-origin deal was heard at the beginning of last week, at $392/tonne cfr Turkey for HMS 1 and bonus mix and $400/t for shredded. Trading in the US domestic scrap market started last week, meanwhile, with mills' bids coming in at $10-40/t gross ton down from May values, depending on region and grade.
