Scrap prices in Turkey continued to rise on Wednesday, while suppliers are seen targeting even higher values, Kallanish notes.
Benelux-origin scrap was bought by a northern Turkish mill on Tuesday at $407/tonne for HMS 1&2 80:20 and $428/t cfr Turkey for shredded and bonus grades. On Wednesday, a southern mill bought US-origin HMS 1&2 90:10 at $415.5/t cfr.
