Turkish domestic scrap falls, import activity recovers slightly
Turkish mills continue to gradually decrease their domestic scrap buying prices amid bearish sentiment in the global finished steel market and falling imported scrap prices, Kallanish notes.
Pressure is increasing on imported scrap prices each day that Turkish mills stay out of the market. Although there was a slight improvement in Turkish mills' demand for imported scrap on Wednesday, it is too early to say they are back in earnest.
