EU demand sees Turkey’s May rod exports recover
Following their April slump, Turkey’s wire rod exports more than doubled on-year in May to 154,785 tonnes, according to Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data monitored by Kallanish. They were also up from 96,092t in April.
Their average price rose to $918/tonne versus $693.5/t in May 2021 and $874/t in April.
Exports of round rod below 14mm diameter comprised 103,740t of May exports, with the Netherlands taking the largest share with 30,000t versus zero…
