Turkey’s long steel prices rise on costlier scrap
Turkish long steel producers have increased their quotes since last week due to the continuing rise in scrap prices. New quotes, however, are seeing resistance from buyers.
Mills’ export offers for rebar were mostly at $655-670/tonne fob Turkey actual weight on Thursday. This is up from $630-650/t fob a week ago. Export quotes for mesh-quality wire rod, meanwhile, are mostly at $690-710/t fob, though higher levels are also being quoted by some producers.
