Turkey’s IDC posts net loss in first quarter
Turkish electric arc furnace-based steelmaker Izmir Demir Celik (IDC) decreased its first-quarter revenue by 32.3% year-on-year to TRY 8.68 billion ($266 million), Kallanish learns from the firm.
The company sunk to a net loss of TRY 1.124 billion in Q1 from a net profit of TRY 1.176 billion in January-March 2023.
Finished product sales in January-March decreased by 10% to 377,962 tonnes. The company sold zero billet in this period versus 5,000t last year. …
