Turkey’s IDC completes meltshop cold tests
Turkish long steel producer Izmir Demir Celik (IDC) has completed cold testing of its new meltshop, the firm says in a bourse filing seen by Kallanish.
The company has already started hot tests, which were initially planned to begin by the end of the second quarter.
IDC aims to double melting capacity from 1.4 million tonnes/year to 2.8m t/y (see Kallanish passim). The long-delayed meltshop investment started in 2021.
