Stainless bar producer, Tsingtuo Group, part of China’s Tsingshan Holdings Group, is going to install tube rolling equipment to manufacture seamless stainless steel pipe blanks, Kallanish notes.

The project with an investment value of CNY 300 million ($43.63m) is to be implemented in Fu’an City in Fujian province.  It consists of two phases, and will involve the installation of 18 piercing lines for 90-mm diameter tube, with 9 in each phase. The project will take two years with the first phase to be commissioned in December 2020, and the second phase at end of 2021.

The project will have the capability to produce pipe blanks in AISI 200, AISI 300 and AISI 400 series materials, with a capacity of 500,000 tonnes/year. The product will be supplied as feed material for producers of both hot and cold rolled pipes.
