Transition needs smelters, 100% hydrogen DRI unrealistic: Sterrer

Smelters will become essential to upgrade lower-quality iron ore feedstock for ironmaking, while direct reduced iron will require a portion of carbon to ensure electric arc furnace operation, according to Primetals head of direct reduced iron Wolfgang Sterrer.
