Vietnam government asks Tisco for plant expansion resolution
Vietnam’s Thai Nguyen Steel (Tisco) may have to sell its delayed and disputed phase two expansion project. The Vietnamese Prime Minister has ordered the Ministry of Industry and Trade to find solutions for the plant at a government meeting, Kallanish notes.
The 500,000 tonne/year integrated steelworks project is pushing the Vietnamese state-owned firm deeper into debt and still shows no sign of approaching completion.
