Tenova partners Nippon Steel on hydrogen DRI
Japan’s largest steelmaker Nippon Steel has secured a contract with technology supplier Tenova for an Experimental Direct Reduction Plant (EDRP) using the Energiron technology jointly developed by the latter and Danieli.
Nippon Steel anticipates pioneering experimental operations for hydrogen-based direct reduced iron with the new plant to be installed at Nippon Steel’s Hasaki R&D Centre, Kallanish notes.
