Steel production rises on-week in US
US raw steel production for the week of 21 January was 1.62 million short tons with a capability utilisation rate of 72.5%, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute. The figure represents a 6.6% decrease from the same week in 2022, when production was 1.74m st and utilisation was 79.8%.
Raw steel production increased by 1.1% since last week, when production was 1.60m st and capability was 71.7%.
