Steel futures stabilise amid global panic
A black Tuesday in global financial markets weighed on Chinese commodity markets on Wednesday, but rebar and hot rolled coil futures held steady as they saw a sharp climb towards the end of trading, Kallanish notes.
On the Shanghai Futures Exchange, the most-traded October 2022 rebar contract closed CNY 7/tonne higher than Tuesday at CNY 4,245/t ($623/t), and the same contract for HRC closed down CNY 24/t at CNY 4,238/t.
